Page Ough has given us four new paintings to edition. The originals are currently in our gallery on Denman Island but will soon be available at the Bay, Vancouver Downtown. There is great demand for Ough's work so if you are interested in an original we advise you to email us.
Coral Barclay's panoramic landscapes printed large have been selling well in the Bay, so we have added two new panoramas to her portfolio of limited edition giclees. Helliwell Bluff is currently available in Vancouver printed on canvas at six feet long. New Artist, Mar.'09
Todd Clark, born in Calgary, Alberta, 1963 and now lives on the Sunshine Coast, BC. A self-taught artist, he works on canvas and board using oils. His landscapes denote an integrated territory: neither internal nor external, they are vistas governed by the ecology of form and colour. New Artist, Feb.'09
Meghan Hildebrand is based in Powell River, British Columbia. Her paintings explore the conflicts of light and dark, natural and industrial, nice and sinister. New Art, Feb.'09
Brian Depew, one our guest artists from south of the border, has produced these two gorgeous floral still lifes. They demonstrate Depew's ability to render the suggestion of detail with the economy of his lively brush strokes, giving the subject a real sense of presence and conveying to the viewer the quality of the light, drawing us into the paintings.
Motoko, provided the highlight of MiMa's launch in the Bay, Vancouver Downtown, September 2008, with “Eternal Sky 2” which she generously donated for the charity auction. $1800 was raised for the BC Childrens Hospital.
Cindy Revell: "A series of 3 large paintings. The topic appears to be pears but the underlying theme is space and seeing how the mood and intimacy of a painting changes when you place your subject near the top of the canvas or place it close to the bottom - and of course light. I also played around with colour, Illumine has an analogous colour scheme, the colours being in the yellow/red-orange family while Lavishly Red is based on the complementary colours of red and a very subtle dark green/grey." The original paintings are available in the Bay, Vancouver. |
