Statement
Eva Sova was educated and trained in the field of visual arts in former Czechoslovakia, now Slovakia, in Eastern Europe, where she was born and raised. She lives with her daughter in Calgary.
Eva is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. She has exhibited acrossCanada, including multiple exhibitions in the Federation Gallery, Art Space Gallery, Calgary, Rosza Centre in the University of Calgary, Auburn Saloon, and Art Country Canada. Her paintings are in Corporate Collections in Canada as well as Private Collections in Canada and Europe.
"My canvases show, or perhaps hide, my relationship with nature and music. The technique of dripping paint on canvas inspires and enables me to represent cracks on soil and rock surfaces, fine branches or patterns on leaves as well as the movement of wind, rain and falling snow. When I am painting, the rhythm and tempo of the music I listen to influences my arm and body movements."
