![]() Fernando Hocevar is one of most acclaimed international artists in the field of digital arts. He was born in Mendoza, Argentina in 1944. He graduated from University of Menzoa as an architect, which gave him a solid aesthetic background for his artistic endeavor. He started his fine art career as a photographer and won numerous awards and major competitions. Later he turned into oils and his ‘Landscapes in the Country of Calm’ series established him as a major artist. In 1997, without abandoning the spirit and beauty of his paintings, he started developing his landscapes by digital processes, which became a passion for him. Two years later he held an exhibition of 40 large pieces at the Modern Art Museum of Mendoza called ‘Landscapes Under the Hidden Moon’. The critics called it ‘the most important example of digital art in Argentina.’ His works can be found in major venues and galleries, as well as in private and corporate collections in Argentina, Chile, France, Italy, Mexico, Israel, Spain, India, USA, and Canada. Selected Awards: Fiorino d’Argento, at the XVII Premio Firenze-Europa, Digital Art Section, sponsored by the European Parliament and the Government of Florence, Italy; Great Prize of Honor, 4th Digital Creation Awards, Japan; Honorable Mention, Hyperart Biennale 2000, New York; Grand Prize, 5th Internet International Art Photo Contest, Japan.
