![]() Won-Hee Gowen was born in Korea and came to Canada in 1975. She studied painting as a university student, and was committed to her art by 1992. Later she studied with several accomplished artists in Canada as well as attending Vancouver Academy of Art. She moved to acrylics and evolved from realistic but delicate subjects to entrancing abstracts. Her painting quickly caught the attention of private and corporate collectors alike and can now be found in offices and homes across Canada, Korea, the United States, France and England. Won-Hee is an active member of The Federation of Canadian Artists. "True art evokes the emotions and challenges the intellect. This applies equally to the viewer and the artist. The visual artist should be like a star dancer or athlete; the ease with which they perform belies the difficulty of the endeavour and the hours of painstaking practice."
