Bill Wilkinson: Born in Montreal in 1950, I grew up with a passion for sketching, painting and fabricating art objects. In my youth, I often hitch-hiked the coasts of Maine and Cape Cod with art supplies in my pack. My art training under numerous West Coast artists such as Svob, Wylie and Northcott led to a painting trip to Italy where I decided to paint full-time. I am currently living and painting in Tsawwassen, a small seaside community south of Vancouver. My work is now available in a number of galleries from Kelowna to Baltimore including Vancouver Art Gallery. I have always tended towards mixed media in my work, experimenting with various mediums, surfaces and methods of application. My images evolve from my fascination with language, communication, pattern and chaos.
