![]() Brent R. Laycock RCA was born in Lethbridge, Alberta in 1947 and grew up on a prairie farm within view of the Rocky Mountains which still inspire much of his work. After earning a Master of Fine Arts at Brigham Young University in Utah, he returned to Alberta. After three decades of art career, his landscapes and botanical paintings have been exhibited across North America, Japan, Mexico & Europe. They have been featured in numerous articles, books, numerous awards and on two Canadian Postage Stamps. His lyrical personal visual style speaks of emotion rather than description. 1987-2008 Solo Exhibitions: Wallace Galleries, Calgary; West End Gallery, Edmonton; Hollander York Gallery & Whitten Gallery, Toronto; Assiniboia Gallery, Regina; Springville Musuem of Art, Springville, Utah; Buschlen/Mowatt Gallery, Vancouver, & others 1974-2007 Group Shows: Numerous shows across Canada with Alberta Society of Artists, the Canadian Society of Artists & the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour.
