![]() Caryl Gordon's hand-pulled monoprints have evolved from abstract landscapes, inspired by Asian woodcuts. “Recently, my landscapes have left the realm of nature as we see it and have evolved into landscapes which depict the time and space that we cannot see or perhaps not comprehend in the complex surroundings of this millennium... I carve plates of plastic, plywood, and masonite with a dremel, an electric rotary hand tool. The rapid rotation of the dremel brings about a certain fluidity of motion reminiscent of Chinese brush painting.” Caryl Gordon received her BFA from The Cooper Union School of Art and Architecture, NYC, and has exhibited throughout North American Galleries and Museums. A recipient of art honors and prizes, her art is present in various corporate, personal and university collections.
