MiMa Fine Art Publishers and Gallery was established in 2005 by Mitra Ghaffari and Mark Prior in British Columbia, Canada, with the intention of bringing the finest quality of art direct to the public. This joint venture combines 40 years of experience between two internationally established artists, whose backgrounds also include publishing and gallery ownership.

At MiMa we believe fine art should be affordable and accessible to the public without compromise in quality and we present you with a variety of contemporary art works from a growing number of Canadian and international artists.

At MiMa we take responsibility for every piece of artwork from start to finish - using state of the art equipment. All limited edition prints are created in partnership with the artists, then printed, proofed and numbered by the publishers.

Press Release, July 2010: Mima Gallery Re-Opening with 40 Canadian Artists…

Mitra Ghaffari started her career as a publisher, at the age of 25, publishing a community newspaper and magazine in California, before gaining her Masters in Fine Art as a painter. She has exhibited internationally in: Berkeley & San Francisco, California; Shanghai, China; Tokyo (1st prize, modern calligraphy, 2000), Japan; Cambridge, U.K. to name a few.

Mark Prior studied fine arts and began his career as a painter, later specialized in land art and sculpture. Soon thereafter he established a reputation as a landscape photographer with solo exhibitions across the U.K. For seventeen years he was the proprietor of Priors Contemporary Fine Arts in Barnard Castle, U.K. representing over 100 artists.
